5 Things NJ Picklers Love
1. Bagels before playing – or pizza afterwards!
Thanks to our Jewish and Italian friends for bringing us these two classic foods! But if for some crazy reason, you don't like bagels or pizza, then you're definitely heading to another New Jersey staple after pickleball – a diner! And if you’re having a pickleball special event in NJ, you’ll have lots of great choices for food.
2. Beating players from New York
Sure, NYC is a great city, we admit that. But New Jersey is one heck of a state, and we're not playing second fiddle to anyone. Or in Jersey speak, "we ain't standing down to nobody!"😂 So when we can stick it to a New Yorker in pickleball and take them down a notch, it's a pretty sweet feeling.
3. Playing in tank tops
Yup, some of us really like our tank tops around here. And hey, when it's hot outside, the less clothing you're wearing, the better. At least you're not playing nude – which is a thing, look it up.😲
4. Building courts
Everyone is building pickleball courts these days. And why not, they're a quarter of the size of a tennis court so you don't need a mega mansion to stick one in your backyard. (Another thing we have that our New York City friends don't – backyards! 💪)
5. Listening to The Boss
Maybe it's "Born in the U.S.A." to get pumped before playing. Or perhaps it's "Born to Run" after a big win. Or hey, maybe you're blasting "Thunder Road" on-court while you're playing. Whatever it is, a little Springsteen never hurt a New Jerseyan. 🤘
