Pickleball is in the House!
If you didn't know any better, you might think that the Robbinsville Pickle House was going to be a new restaurant featuring pickles in every dish. 🥒😄 But if you're reading this newsletter, then you probably know what the "pickle" is referring to. 💪
What you may not know, however, is the size and scope of this pickleball project. Set in the former Robbinsville Fieldhouse in Robbinsville, NJ (just outside of Trenton), the new Pickle House will be home to more than 20 top-notch pickleball courts. Yup, you heard that right -- more than 20!
Construction of the facility is scheduled to start this spring and USA Pickleball will be collaborating on the project. The 60,00 square-foot facility will be home to not just pickleball courts, but to dining as well. Tasty food, craft beer and spirits will be available year-round, which means air conditioning, heat, and state-of-the-art lighting. A unique design is also planned to simulate the experience of an outdoor environment even though the courts will be indoors.
“We’re thrilled to unveil The Pickle House later this year, a culmination of our dedication to providing top-tier facilities for athletes of all backgrounds,” said Christopher Vernon, owner of Robbinsville Pickle House. “Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, The Pickle House welcomes you to experience pickleball like never before.”
Annual memberships will be available, along with hourly rentals for guests to stop by and play a game or grab a bite. For those coming in from out of town, there are many hotels to choose from, including the Robbinsville Hampton Inn & Suites that is part of the complex.
“We are thrilled to help accommodate one of the fastest growing sports in America, if not the world,” Robbinsville Township Mayor Dave Fried said. "This iconic fieldhouse has been the source of so many wonderful memories over the years, and thanks to the vision of Chris Vernon and his Mercer Management team, you can be sure more lasting memories are in store."
More pickleball facilities in New Jersey means more opportunities for us to get out there and enjoy our incredible sport. So good luck Robbinsville Pickle House, we look forward to checking you out soon. 👍
